HRT PREPAYMENT CERTIFICATE FROM APRIL 2023

From 1 April 2023 the Government launched the HRT Pre-Payment Certificate (PPC) to reduce prescription costs for women receiving Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). If patients pay for HRT prescriptions more than 3 times per year they can apply for a HRT prepayment certificate at a cost of £19.30 – the cost of 2 items.

Guidance on the HRT PPC is now available

Prescribers will need to complete a separate prescription for items covered by the HRT PPC to allow patients to claim the exemption correctly.

If patients are requesting their medications via our online facility please will they make a separate request for HRT items so we can ensure that these are issued separately.  Thank you.
