This is Julia our clinical nurse practitioner. Julia has studied at MSc level developing her skills which enables her to work alongside the GPs to see and treat patients with minor aliments such as, chest infections, tonsillitis, cellulitis and sinusitis. Julia also has a specialist interest in diabetes management.

Responsible for typing and despatching all referral letters, medical reports and other forms that our Doctors may be required to complete for our patients. If you need to contact the practice to enquire about a consultant appointment or a hospital referral your Doctor has made for you then you will speak to Linda.

We have three members of staff answering your prescription enquiries:
Our telephone line is open between 10am - 12:30pm Monday to Friday
Carol Byrne (Monday to Wednesday)

Amy Rogers (Friday)

These members of staff are responsible for processing all our repeat prescriptions on a daily basis. If you have any enquiries about your repeat medication you will need to speak to one of them initially, and they will refer your enquiry on to one of the doctors as necessary.

Clinical Pharmacist

We now have a clinical pharmacist – Rebecca Walters – who works with the practice on Thursdays each week. She will see patients to carry out medication reviews as well as supporting the GPs with medication issues in the practice.

Rebecca works with a team of clinical pharmacists who help the practice throughout the week with medication issues and are often in telephone contact with our patients.

District Nurses

Our District Nursing Team are based at The Warrens Health Centre, but are in daily contact with the practice. Our District Nurses look after our patients in the community, visiting those who are housebound but have special nursing requirements. They attend our patients in their own homes to assess Nursing needs and offer a comprehensive range of skilled Nursing care. If you require District Nurse support please request a referral from the Practice to the District Nurse team.

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in Upton Group Practice in the last financial year was £53,099 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 8 part time GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
