Positive about appointments – Positive about the practice

Dr Paula Cowan – Chair of  NHS Wirral Health and Care Commissioning shared the following national survey with practices.

Two key headlines from this are:

  • NHS Wirral CCG offers the highest rate of GP appointments in the country  i.e. In September there were 0.64 appointments per person.
  • NHS Wirral CCG has the second highest rate of “in person” GP  appointments in the country i.e. in September there were 0.44 appointments per person that could be accessed either face to face at the GP surgery or as home visits

A comparison of appointments by type in September 2022 and January 2023, looking at Face to Face appointments and Telephone appointments, proves that we are continuing to increase our Face to Face appointment slots as shown in the graph here.
