Change to your Usual Doctor on the NHS App

Change to your Usual Doctor on the NHS App

As you are all aware, Upton Group Practice operates a pooled patient list which basically means that any GP in the practice can and does see any patient although we will always try to accommodate a request to see a specific GP if they are available on the day treatment is being sought.

However, what you may not be aware of is that all results, letters and prescription requests that arrive in the practice automatically go to the partner who has been allocated as ‘your usual GP’ for them to action. Now that we have gone from 4 partners to 5 partners, I need to rebalance the workload across all 5 partners which means that some of you may see a change to who appears as your ‘usual GP’ over the coming weeks if you use the NHS App.

To rebalance the workload, I will be selecting a proportion of Dr. Annett’s, Dr. Kini’s, Dr. Thomas’s and Dr. Dixons patients at random (but keep households together) who will then be moved under Dr. Pugh.

As I have already said, this is an administrative task to rebalance the workload and will not impact the care you receive.

I will write again once the work has been completed.

Best regards
